Your Next Steps at Emmaus Road Church
We care about you and your faith journey. Wherever you are right now, there's a next step waiting, and we'd rather walk it with you than hand you a checklist and wish you luck.
This isn't a checklist to complete. Following Jesus is a path you keep walking, one step at a time, for the rest of your life. Some steps you'll take once. Others you'll come back to again and again, because that's how growth works.
Use this guide to figure out where you are and where you're headed next. Let's find out together.
Following Jesus starts with showing up. Worship is where you hear from God, sing His praise next to people who get exactly what you're carrying, and remember you're not doing this on your own.
Get filled up before the week hits you. We believe that a better week starts with a Sunday grounded in worship together. It starts when you're with people that believe and worship alongside you -- not in the chaos of a Monday morning scramble.
Worship is a weekly rhythm. Unlike our runs to the big warehouse store - we can't stock up a few times a year and be good-to-go. Instead, it's a weekly rhythm we settle into, together.
You don't need to have it figured out first. Come as you are, and let worship reset your week instead of adding to it.
Take the step: Join us Sunday at 9 AM or 10:45 AM at 1811 Elmwood Road in DeWitt. Grab a seat, bring the kids, and stay after to say hello. That's the whole invitation.
Baptism is where your faith stops being private. It's the moment you say out loud, in front of people who love you, that you believe Jesus is who He said He is and you're following Him for good. Baptism doesn't save you. It's what you do because you already are.
If you've already been baptized, great, whether it was as an infant, child, teen or adult, God is already at work through your baptism.

Sunday morning isn't enough room for real life. A Life Group is where people learn your name, ask what's actually going on with you, and open the Bible with you in a living room or around a dining table.
A life group is where you do life together, not just talk about it. You wrestle with hard questions, pray for each other, spend real time together, and serve side by side. That's what makes you feel seen, heard, and valued instead of just going through the motions.
These are your people: the ones you call when life gets hard, when you need prayer, when things are messy and you don't want to face it alone. You enjoy them and they enjoy you. It's reciprocal: you care deeply for them, they care deeply for you, and somewhere in that back and forth, you grow together in Christ.

You were given what you have for a reason, and it wasn't to keep it to yourself. We ask people to serve because serving does something in you, not just around you. It's not only what we get from your time. It's what God does in you while you give it, and the people who serve are the ones who end up blessed by it.
Discipleship happens shoulder to shoulder, not just in a chair. When you serve, you meet people you'd never cross paths with otherwise, you hear how God is moving in someone else's life, and you become a blessing to the people serving next to you and the people you're serving. That's what fills you up and lets you watch God work in real time.
Every ONE is called to serve. No matter what. God's not done doing a good thing in you.
There are plenty of places to use your gifts to participate in the Kingdom of God right here at Emmaus Road Church.
- Run tech and production so worship comes through clear
- Pray for people who need it on the prayer team
- Teach, lead worship, or shepherd students in Kid's Club, 4:56, Junior High or High School Youth Groups on Wednesday nights
- Serve in the Nursery as your disciple our smallest people and let parents have a worship "date"
- Pour coffee or greet people walking through our doors on Sunday morning
- Use your skills to maintain the building or organize processes
Sit one, serve one. That's the rhythm here. Worship fully at one service, then serve at the other, on the same Sunday. Sit under the Word at 9 and serve the 10:45 crowd, or serve at 9 and sit under it at 10:45. Either way, you get filled up and you give it away in the same morning.

Click to Your faith was never meant to stop with you. Somewhere in your life is someone who needs exactly what you found here: a place that doesn't require you to have it together first. Making room for one more means keeping your eyes open for that person, and being willing to bring them along.

- Think of one name right now.
- Write it down and put it somewhere you'll see it to pray for them.
- Text us at 563.659.9444 with a first name or initials. We want to join you in praying for them.
- Invite them to a Sunday service, a life group, or just coffee to talk about what you've found
You don't need the answers. You just need to make the room, cover them in prayer and faithfully ask them to join you.
